• We will NEVER ask you to share this OTP with anyone, including our staff

Visual identifiers

Our official website and forms always include these security elements:

• The Mukuru logo in the center.
• Additionally, they will mention the partner that the money was sent from.
• The name of the sender who sent you the money. If you are unaware of the money sent, please contact the sender for confirmation.
• The amount sent to you.
• A consistent orange and white color scheme.

Information we will NEVER ask for

• Your full banking password or PIN
• Credit card CVV numbers
• OTPs sent for other services or transactions
• Remote access to your device
• Payment to release your transfer

SARB requirements for South African transfers

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) requires us to collect specific information about recipients of money transfers into South Africa. This is required by law under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA) and other regulations.

The information we are legally required to collect includes:

• Recipient's ID document
• Recipient's Country
• Recipient's address
• Recipient's Date of Birth (DOB)
• Purpose of the transfer
• Gender

This information is securely stored, encrypted, and only used for regulatory compliance purposes.
